Disabling Image display in Email: Eudora

Images in emails and newsletters can make those messages a lot more prettier. Unfortunately, HTML graphics come with the risk of compromising your security and privacy if they are fetched from a remote server when you read the message.

Eudora lets you reduce this risk to a minimum: You can tell Eudora not to download graphics from remote servers at all and this article will explain how to prevent Privacy Infringement by Graphics in Eudora

Steps to stop Eudora from downloading remote images automatically:

  •     Select "Tools" | "Options"... from the Eudora menu.
  •     Go to the "Display" category.
  •     Make sure "Automatically download HTML graphics" is not selected.
  •     Now, make sure you have "turned off" Internet Explorer as the HTML viewer in Eudora.
These steps can be followed for Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.
