An email's subject is essential information and should be displayed in Windows Live Mail mailbox overview. I think we can agree on that. Windows Live Mail does, and the Subject is one of the columns shown by default. The recipient, for example, is not. To display it, you have to change the Windows live Mail columns layout.
These customization of columns may defer on your needs. Basically these articles explains how to change the view of columns displayed in your windows live mail windows.
Change the Columns Shown in Windows Live Mail
To set the columns shown in the Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express mailbox view:
* Select View | Columns... from the menu in Windows Live Mail.
o In Windows Live Mail, you can only pick the columns shown when the reading pane is off or at the bottom; use View | Layout to change the reading pane settings.
o In Windows Live Mail, you may have to hold down the Alt key to see the menu.
* Make sure the columns you want to be visible are checked.
* Click OK.
These steps can be followed for Windows live mail installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.
