Delete Duplicates for Eudora

Posted on 20:00 by Unknown

Delete Duplicates for Eudora finds duplicate messages and attachments with diligence and sophistication in your Eudora folders, and it removes them automatically, too. It's a pity Delete Duplicates does work with mail stored locally only.

Advantage:
  •     Delete Duplicates for Eudora finds and removes duplicate messages from Eudora
  •     You can find only strict duplicates or just duplicate content and search across folders
  •     Delete Duplicates for Eudora eliminates extraneous copies of attachments and embedded files, too

Disadvantages:
  •     Delete Duplicates for Eudora does not allow you to compare duplicate messages before taking action
  •     Some options seem unnecessarily arcane and some user interface elements inappropriate

Description:

Delete Duplicates for Eudora finds duplicate emails and attachments in Eudora locally or in IMAP accounts.
Using various methods or comparison, Delete Duplicates finds identical or very similar messages.
Detected duplicates can be moved to a special folder, trashed or physically removed immediately.
Using filters, you can make Delete Duplicates for Eudora compare only certain messages.
When eliminating duplicates across folders, Delete Duplicates for Eudora respects folder precedence.
Delete Duplicates for Eudora supports Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/3/XP.

Enfish Find for Eudora

Posted on 15:30 by Unknown

Enfish Find lets you search, find and preview emails and attachments in a comprehensive manner and works good with Eudora. Searches can be saved as "Trackers", but the results returned by Enfish Find lack a tad in relevancy, and it supports only a few email clients and no instant messaging programs. Enfish Find is no longer available.

Advantages:

  •     Enfish Find searches emails, attachments and local files
  •     You can save searches as "Trackers", and Enfish Find cross-references some information
  •     Enfish Find gives you a fast preview of any indexed email or attachment

Disadvantages:
  •     Enfish Find does not index email as it arrives
  •     Instant messaging communication is not included in Enfish Find's index
  •     The results returned by Enfish Find lack a bit in relevancy and precision

Description:

Enfish Find finds emails, attachments and local files fast.
Messages from Outlook, Notes, Outlook Express and AOL are indexed by Enfish Find.
Enfish Find gives a preview of any email, attachment and document it finds.
You can save search criteria as "Trackers" in Enfish Find for faster access.
Enfish Find is accessible as a separate app or via toolbars in Office or the Windows taskbar.
Contacts and "trackers" are cross-referenced in search results and easily accessible with a click.
Enfish Find supports Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/Windows XP/ Windows 7.

Finding store folder for Eudora

Posted on 10:00 by Unknown

Depending on your version of Windows and your configuration, Eudora can keep your messages, address book data and settings in one of many different places. If you want to back up or copy them, you first need to identify your Eudora folder. In this article our texpert has given simple and easy step to identify your Eudora Folder on Windows

To find your Eudora folder on Windows XP or Windows 7:

Search for "eudora.ini" on your computer.

If you get only one result, the folder containing eudora.ini is your Eudora folder.

If there are multiple folders containing eudora.ini, you have to open them all to identify "your" Eudora folder. Look for .mbx files and .fol folders that match your setup of mailboxes in Eudora.

Find Your Eudora Folder Faster on Windows XP and Later like Windows 7:

If you use Windows 2000, XP or later, try this first:
  •     select "Run"... from the Start menu.
  •     Type "%appdata%\Qualcomm\Eudora" (without quotes).
  •     Hit "Return/Enter" key to go directly to your Eudora folder.

If this does not work, use the method above to locate your Eudora store folder.

How backup emails in Eudora

Posted on 20:00 by Unknown

You may have some messages that carry particular importance. Of course, you keep them in a save folder inside Eudora and you have printed them, but one never knows. In Eudora you can  back up all your email data easily, it is also particularly easy to make back-up  messages. In Eudora, exporting to .mbx files is just as easy.

If you make backup copies of your Eudora mailbox files, you are prepared for the case of emergency and can restore your important messages.

To make backup copies of your Eudora mailboxes:
  •     Go to your Eudora folder in Windows Explorer.
  •     Highlight all files with the extension ".mbx", the file "descmap.pce" as well as all folders with names ending in ".fol".
  •     Select Edit | Copy from the menu to copy the files and folders.
  •     Now go to the folder where you want to keep the backup copy of your Eudora mailbox files.
  •      Preferably, this folder is on another hard disk, a DVD, a network drive, ZIP drive or other remote medium.

Compressing mailbox in Eudora mail

Posted on 15:30 by Unknown

There are no hard and fast rules for this. Unless you are having problems, such as Eudora running very slow, or are in desperate need of more disk space, I would suggest compressing mailbox would be your first step towards increasing disk space.Eudora stores your messages in text files. There is one file for every mailbox.

When you delete a message or move it to a different mailbox, the message itself is not immediately erased from the text file but only marked as deleted. This speeds up moving or deleting messages a lot. In this article we have tried to simple understanding for compressing mailbox.

When Eudora compacts a mailbox (either automatically or initiated by you)

  • Select "Special" from menu
  • then "Compact Mailboxes" from the drop down options,

the messages marked as deleted are actually erased from the text file and the disk space such wasted is reclaimed. These steps can be followed in Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Adding image to message body: Eudora

Posted on 10:00 by Unknown

Sending images as attachments is fun, but sending them inline in the message can be even more fun. To do this, you need not even include the image in your mail directly. It's enough to point to the image somewhere on the Web.

Of course, you can also copy the image location in an Internet Explorer, Safari or Opera window. Now you can include the image in an email message in Eudora and in this article we have tried to make it simple and easy steps which can be done on your own.

Steps to add an image to the body of an email in Eudora:

  •     Position the cursor in the message body exactly where you want the picture to appear.
  •     Select Edit | Insert | Picture...  from the menu.
  •     Find the desired image and click Open.
^ If the picture is already located on a web server or you can easily put it there, select Edit | Insert | Downloadable Picture... from the menu and enter the image's address under URL of picture.

  •     If your image is larger than some 640x640 pixels, consider shrinking it to more handy proportions.
  •     When you send the message, make sure you select Plain & Styled should Eudora ask for the message format.
  •     Make sure Eudora is not set up to send plain text messages only without asking.

These steps can be followed for Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Reply multiple mails at once: Eudora

Posted on 04:30 by Unknown

When you reply to an email message, it is good practice to include the relevant parts of the original messages so that everybody knows what it is you are replying to.

But what if, in a group discussion or on a mailing list, for example, you are replying to pieces from multiple emails? You can copy and paste the original messages,  or you write individual replies to all emails (which you should normally do if they are about different subjects). Or you use Eudora.

Eudora has a very convenient feature that allows you to include the text of as many messages as you like in a reply. Your reply will automatically be addressed to the authors of all the messages included, too and in this article we have mention short and easiest way to do that.

Steps to include more than one messages in a single reply with Eudora:
  •     Highlight all the messages you want to include in your reply in the Eudora mailbox.
  •     If the messages are in different folders, you first have to copy them to one of them so that they are all collected in one folder.
  •     Click the Reply button.

Now continue editing and eventually sending your reply. Make sure you go through the recipient list in the To: field before you click Send to avoid sending your mail to people you did not intend the message to go to and this steps can be followed for Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Posted on 23:00 by Unknown

It's great to have Eudora check for new mail periodically all on its own. you do have email accounts that you don't want to be checked automatically, though. In which one accout is on a really, really slow to respond server, for example. Since it hardly ever receives mail, checking it every 15 minutes only slows down checking the other, more important emails.

Eudora lets you decide for each account (personality) whether you want it to be included in automatic mail checking or not and in this article we have mentioned simple steps to achive
Exclude an Account from Automatic Checking in Eudora

Steps to exclude an account from automatic mail checking in Eudora:
  •     Select "Tools" | "Personalities" from the menu.
  •     "Right-click" the desired Eudora personality.
  •     Select "Properties" from the menu.
  •    Make sure "Check Mail is not checked" on the Generic "Properties" tab.
  •     Click "OK".

These steps can be followed for Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Auto Empty Trash folder on Exit: Eudora

Posted on 09:30 by Unknown

There are many activities you can do when managing email. You can reply the email, forward it, delete it, create new email, and other various activities. When deleting an email, the electronic mail will be included into the Trash folder, not disposed directly.

This folder function is similar as the Recycle Bin on the Windows desktop. All emails that are in the trash folder will remain there as long as you do nothing on this folder. As a result, the hard disk will become overloaded because there is some disk space used by the trashed email. In this article we have few quick and easy steps to empty the Trash Automatically When You Exit Eudora

Steps to
empty the Trash Automatically on exit in Eudora:
  •     Select "Tools" | "Options"... from the menu in Eudora.
  •     Go to the "Miscellaneous" category.
  •     Make sure "Empty Trash when exiting" is checked.
  •     Click "OK".

These steps can be followed in Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Filtering mails with attachment: Eudora

Posted on 18:30 by Unknown

Usually, attachments are important. Some are important because they are dangerous (viruses!), but many are important because they are reports, work, or family pictures. Whatever the reason may be why you want to catch them, in Eudora you can attach a label to them with a filter automatically.

In this article we have tried to make things easy by providing steps which are simple and easy to create a label for messages containing Attachments Automatically in Eudora

Steps to make Eudora label messages containing attachments automatically:
  •     Select "Tools" | "Filters" from the menu in Eudora.
  •     Click "New".
  •     The filter should read:
            ^   "Match Incoming"
            ^  "Header: Content-Type:"
            ^  "contains multipart/mixed".
  •     As the "Action to take", choose "Make Label".
  •     Click on "None" and select the desired "label".
  •     "Close" the Filters window, saving changes.

Finally, you should move this filter to the very top of your filters so it can process all incoming messages before other filters move them to specific folders and stop further filtering and these steps can be followed for Eudora installed in Windows XP and Windows 7.

Making email's private in Eudora

Posted on 14:00 by Unknown

You don't want other people who have access to your computer — legitimate access, to have access to the emails it holds as well. If this is true, set up a distinct Windows account for each user so that everybody can have their own wallpaper, and so that emails and documents are kept separate. This is very well and good, but it is not enough to protect your emails.

Below we have tried to provide you with steps where you can protect your emails in Eudora when you have different accounts for multiple users of same computer. These steps are easy to follow and simple.

Steps to keep your emails private from the other users:
  •     "Locate the folder" in which your email program keeps mail.
  •     "Right Click" on the folder in Windows Explorer.
  •     Select "Sharing and Security"... from the menu.
  •     Go to the "Sharing tab".
  •     Make sure "Make this folder private" is checked under "Local sharing and security".
  •    Click "OK".

This prevents other users from all access to the folder. You mail is safe as long as nobody can log on to your account Windows (Windows XP and Windows 7).
