Back email filters in Outlook Express

                  If you carefully built a system of mail filters in Outlook Express that automatically sort and organize your incoming and outgoing messages, you certainly don't want to lose these filters. If you back them up, you can transfer your Outlook Express mail rules to another computer or restore them in case of data loss.

Steps to create a copy of your Outlook Express mail rules:

•     Go to your Outlook Express settings in the Windows registry.

•     Open the "Rule"s key.

•     Click on the "Mail" key.

•     Select "File" | "Export"... from the menu.

•     Change the location to the directory where you want to keep the backup copy of your Outlook Express mail rules.

•     Type "Mail Rules" in the File Name box.

•     Make sure "Registration Files (*.reg)" is selected under Save as type:.

•     Make sure Selected branch is chosen under Export range

•     Click "Save".

Remember where you keep your backup copy so you can recover or import it when needed and these steps works with windows XP/2000/98 etc.
